Alberta M. Brumberg

Alberta M. Brumberg age 92 of Broad Street Ext; Brockway, PA; died on Monday, November 13, 2017 at her residence. Born on December 1, 1924 in Brockway, PA; Alberta was the daughter of the late John and Anna Truesdale Gankosky. She was a 1942 graduate of the Brockway High School. Alberta was married to Carl Raymond “Swede” Brumberg and he preceded her in death on April 2, 1994. Retired, She was the co-owner of Gankoskys Garage in Brockway from 1979 to 1990, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the Moorhead United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Alberta is survived by 2 daughters: Faith Starr and Tracey Brumberg both of Brockway; 2 sons: Peter (Betty) Brumberg of Brockway and John (Deborah) “Swede” Brumberg of Gibsonia, PA; 1 sister: Beverly Gankosky also of Brockway; grandchildren: John Brumberg, Anna (Ian) Lindemuth, Toby (Brittany) Starr, Peter J. (Katie) Brumberg, Justin (Megan) Brumberg, Sarah (Eric) Wymer, Maggie (Jake) Harriger and Lucas (Brittany) Brumberg. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband she is also preceded in death by a brother George Gankosky. There will be no public visitation. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 15 at 10:30 AM at the Moorhead United Methodist Church in Brockway with Pastor Bob Trask and Rev. Terry Felt co-officiating. Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery in DuBois. Although flowers are apprectiated at the funeral service, memorial donations may be made to the Moorhead United Methodist Church P.O. Box 233 Brockway, PA 15824.
